Senior Estimator helping rail and infrastructure teams in Melbourne build reliable, defensible cost positions, from tender through delivery.
I'm Shubhangi, a Senior Estimator with nine years across Victoria's rail, civil and utilities programs. I build estimates that decision-makers trust, communicate with stakeholders from procurement to project sponsors, and bring discipline to the messy commercial reality of capital delivery.
Explore my profileI help teams turn scope, drawings and risk into defensible numbers, the kind that survive contingency reviews and sponsor scrutiny without unraveling at delivery.
My background is unusual: a double degree in Civil Engineering and Business from Swinburne, followed by an internship at Yarra Trams Infrastructure, a graduate role at Comdain, and nine years at Metro Trains Melbourne supporting RPV, LXRP, NELP and Franchise programs through tender and operational estimates.
I work natively in InEight and AutoCAD, build my own Excel models, and read MAXIMO asset data where it matters. Mostly though, I care about clear thinking under deadline pressure and translating commercial complexity into decisions teams can act on.
Eight programs where I led or supported estimating across the full lifecycle. Project values are total contract value (TCV) at award.

The trade-craft of estimating is unglamorous; the impact isn't. What you'll get from working with me, distilled.
Estimates landed when they're needed, through sprint windows, board cycles and tender deadlines.
Every line traceable to its source and method. Estimates that hold up under sponsor and audit scrutiny.
Nine years in, still actively learning: new tools, new contracting models, new risk angles.
Four practice areas where I do my best work, across the full estimating lifecycle, from concept-stage budgeting to tender response and post-award cost management.
View case studiesBottom-up and parametric estimates for capital, operational and contingency works, built to stand up under sponsor and audit scrutiny.
Estimating support across RPV, LXRP and Franchise programs, covering operations trials, level crossings, training, signalling and track works.
End-to-end tender response. From scope review and supplier engagement to pricing strategy, contingency build-up and post-tender negotiations.
Turning raw cost data into the structured packs project sponsors can act on, from estimate narratives to delay-cost models.
Looking for a progressive team in rail, civil or utilities, somewhere I can keep growing the technical-commercial muscle while contributing across estimating, tender and delivery.
Four stories where I can show the work: problem, process, solution, result. Names anonymised where contracts require it; happy to walk through specifics in conversation.
A multi-year program of project support services covering the full estimating lifecycle from concept through tender. The largest single program I've supported.
A signature LXRP grade-separation program in Melbourne's north-west. High-stakes civil works in a dense brownfield corridor with significant community and operator interfaces.
As Graduate Engineer & Estimator at Comdain Infrastructure, I worked across multiple major tenders and rebuilt the internal request-for-quote and document management discipline.
When two senior estimators left the team in quick succession, I stepped into the gap: reviewing peers' estimates before formal review, mentoring new starters and acting as second-in-charge to the Estimating Manager.
"She has constantly gone over and above to ensure her work is to a professional standard and her knowledge is shared within the entire estimating department." Estimating Manager, Metro Trains Melbourne · FY22 review
Beyond the spreadsheets. The underlying capabilities that make my estimates land and my reports get read.
Nine years of bottom-up, parametric and benchmark estimating across rail, civil and utilities. The breadth to know when each method fits and when none do.
End-to-end tender pricing, contract admin and supplier engagement, from scope to award.
Working across engineering, procurement, sponsors and external clients, translating between the trades.
Structuring cost data into decision-ready packs: narrative, sensitivity, contingency.
Mentored three new estimators at MTM and reviewed the team's work as second-in-charge to the Estimating Manager.
From a double degree at Swinburne to senior estimating at Metro Trains Melbourne, with formative stops at Comdain Infrastructure and Yarra Trams along the way.
